The food, the atmosphere all added to making Friday night a very special time for me. I had a great time as did the others who attended and it was a lovely example of the kind of community involvement that you are well known for.

I moved to calgary I need to say calgary doesn\\\'t have a bar as great as menzzzz!!!!!! For a dude thats checked out a few bigger cities and there bars - Hali has the honor of having menz which is a great GLBT bar - everyone is welcome there and it rocks !!!! I hope it stays open forever - what a great place !!!!Doug and dave - you did the GLBT community a great service with your open attitudes and catering to all aspects of this community and deserve all the compliments and any and all more sucesses !!!!I miss it - I will be back next summer and will carve out a spot again there !!!!

Last weekend a friend of mine introduced me to manz bar.Wow I\\\'m so glad he did. As he took me from room to room i was blown away by the intimacy and warmth that greeted me as i entered. The bar staff are very friendly and i couldn\\\'t help myself.... I had to tell Rick how extremely sexy he is. So i returned this weekend Fri and Sat night and danced my ass off all night long. hey Doug/Dave what a great time we had last sat. with DJ Sonny D. You know you have something working well when the dance floor is packed from 10:30-closing. Its all about having a great time.. dancing included!! You had to notice the difference!! Just like ol times. Hope you have the wrinkles ironed out with the music now.

Comment: back in April I was at Menz bar and dropped my wallet on the stairs exiting the building - didn\\\'t realize it until an hour later - I thought my wallet would never be found - but I called the bar and spoke to Darryll - THE MOST HONEST EMPLOYEE, BARTENDER, PERSON!!!

Darryll told me he found my wallet when he was going out for a smoke - I went to get it and found it all in tack - including the cash, credit cards ID etc - I was leaving for holidays out of the country a few days later and it would have been a nightmare of Darryll had not found it.

THANK YOU for hiring such an honest and upstanding person - he get my vote for the best bartender in the city!! ..and thanks again Darryll

I was at menz then seadogs last night had a blast at both in fact heading back to both in a few minutes heard a lot about chicklits gotta see for myself . I am from chtown pei wish we had something of the caliber of your 2 establishments

Yes, it was a while before the New Bar open but I had all the patients going. I knew you were going to open with BIG surprises and boy it was.
I was there for the Opening night and it was awsome.
I sure well visit again when I\'m back in Halifax.
Right now. I moved back to \"The Rock\" Newfoundland. It\'s where my employment is at.
So my weekend get away will be bound for Halifax.
Also, for the last 2 years living in Halifax. I have met many wonderful, mature gentlemen and it all started when I first visit the \"Old Menz Bar.\"
Boy....there are alot of good memories and times there. Can\'t forget the oldtime.

Visiting last weekend, really awesome bar guys, bartenders and guys on the floor are nice and friendly, really cute guy serving the floor, think the name is Dan. Plus the guy on the door, super nice and funny, when I told him I was from Ottawa, he really made me feel good being there with a nice warm maritime no BS welcome hug and a pat on the ass, keep up the good work guys, love your bar and well spread the word on your bar and staff in Ottawa.

Went to Menz Sunday night with my boys Chris & Shane to play pool. We had a great time. Congrats - you guys did a great job with the new space.

I'm impressed with the evolution of the bar. It's a luxurious bar, with echoes of past bars and, of course, Maritime hospitality. The Industrial style dance bar, poolroom and décor maintain the butch look and feel of the original Menz bar. The tastefully decorated VIPs areas are cheerful and cozy, as well as, good use of space. I felt comfortable in an atmosphere of safety, and respect. I find that Menzbar continues to be a relaxing bar for all -the young and the mature male. I compliment you both (David and Doug) and those that made it all happen for providing such a wonderful lounge/bar and dining area for gays in Halifax. You may have created one of the nicest use of space in the city.

I went out on Saturday night, great bar, finally a gay bar up and running again, love it...great work...

We had a great time last friday it was great to be out at Menz again the new place is better then before . love it guys u did great worth the wait..

Menz club was great two very friendly bartenders , friendly patrons
, good place to stop before heading to seadogs ,i,m bi married so its great for guys like us not into the crusing scene and cumming from small towns

Just wanted to say Thank you, thank you, thank you to Doug and Dave and all the staff (Blaine, Steve, Bruce, DJ Needles (Richard) and anybody else I forgot, lol) for throwing such a great close out bash. The night was a total blast.
If you missed it, you missed the event of the year. The music was pumping, the guys were hot (left, right and center), and the drinks were free flowing. The place was nut\\\'s, you should have seen it.
Keep your eyes open for the opening of the new place, it\\\'s huge. I\\\'m sure that Doug and Dave will put their excellent touch on the new space, and make it even better than \\\"home\\\" was.
Again, everybody, thanks for an excellent night. A night that won\\\'t be soon forgot.

What a wonderful place. I must admit, it is my favoriate place to have a drink in the city and has really grown on me. The staff, especially Chad and Terry are just wonderful (and HOT!). Menzbar is a relaxing bar for all concerned--young and old. You
can talk to others or sit alone. It's your choice. Just like the good old
days. I'm exceedingly proud of David and Doug that there's such a wonderful lounge for gays in Halifax. Having a business is very hard work and at last we got a bar in Halifax that I feel at home. I'm nothing to look at, but the bartenders are always nice to me. It's also a bar I would gladly take a friend. Lastly, cheers to the webmaster. This website is splendid.

 

Doug, i was one of a group of women who came to the Menz bar a few fridays back for the first time. You made a point of introducing yourself and i was quite impressed with genuine interest of having women in your bar. We told as many people as we could and are so pleased you are opening up a place for women to have fun.

I relocated to halifax in September 05 and I have to say I really felt welcome my first time at the Menz Bar...Great Staff and Super Atmosphere. When my friends visit Halifax the Menz Bar is the first place they want to go and we always make sure we do Sunday brunch ....it has become a ritual for us..

I was in Hfx for the Thanksgiving weekend. Menz Bar is my favorite
place to hang out. Friday and Saturday are great. Its time that Halifax had a bar like those in Montreal and Toronto!!!

Great place - still love what was done with it . Keep rockin - my
fav spot for a comfy beer and great staff!!!!

Wow, wish we had a bar like this in Hamilton. Love the butch look and feel. A real Man's Bar!
